One Less race provides grants to families in the process of international adoption, private adoption, and foster adoption. Our desire is to lower the financial burden of adoption to allow and empower more families to adopt.
We provide any many grants as financially possible each year.  Grant sizes are determined based on the funds raised during the current One Less Race and direct donations to One Less grants.
One Less grants are open to individuals and families pursuing international adoption, private adoption, or foster adoption.  Because of the immediate and often unexpected needs that occur with foster placements, assistance for foster families is available directly through Vault Fostering Community throughout the year.
The One Less grant may be used for any adoption related expenses.  Grantees will not receive the grant funds directly.  Grant funds are paid to your agency or lawyer on your behalf.  If you wish for your grant to be applied to a specific expense, please contact us to verify and coordinate the funds transfer.  Grant amounts are generally between $1000 and $4000.
There is no income requirement to apply for a One Less grant.  The application process is thorough and will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
There is no income requirement to apply.
Important: The need for adoption assistance and the number of requests received by One Less far exceeds our resources. Consequently, neither One Less, Vault Fostering Community, its officers, directors, nor volunteers represent that all applicants will receive a grant. All grants are awarded with the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.
